Design of a 1 metre diameter ductile iron pipeline over some 17 km to deliver a maximum flow of 1,300 l/s: enough water to service a population of about 500,000 people!
The design of the pipeline from Lostwithiel to Colliford Reservoir on Bodmin Moor was made with powerful ground modeling software (PDS) providing a 3D profile of the ground and pipe
alignment.
Pipe route, easement, and alignment were chosen for minimal damage to the countryside, whilst at the same time accounting for ease of construction, and minimizing costs.
