Reconstruction, Carnmenellis, Cornwall

Following a major fire, pdp Green were tasked with the reconstruction of this traditional farmhouse. After careful consideration it was decided that where stonework was to be rendered, it should be replaced with blockwork, providing a higher quality construction whilst also being particularly cost efficient. To retain the building's original aesthetic, the stonework of the front facade was reinstated, including the granite sills. Care was taken to try to closely recreate the look of the original house despite the extensive damage it had suffered.
