Shire Hall and Mount Folly

The Grade II* Listed Shire Hall was a former court building and a restaurant until it fell into disuse. The Town Council wished to convert it into a “Living Museum”, an exhibition and performance space with tourist information however substantial surveys, repairs were required before the conversion and installations could take place.
The open square in front of Shire Hall known as Mount Folly was also selected for rejuvination, having been used as a car park and taxi rank. Designs were formulated for new granite bench seats, and street furniture such as railings, bollards, bins, signs and lighting.
