The practice specialises in adapting, reusing and extending old buildings of a variety of scales and types, for a variety of purposes. This work, together with formal postgraduate training in Architectural Conservation, has led the practice to develop a philosophy and methodology for the design of projects which recognise the need to develop a unique solution for each particular set of circumstances. At the same time, the practice has also undertaken a wide range of new build projects in a contemporary manner, with an increasing focus on Environment Conscious design, together with interior design, urban and landscape design and graphic design. Of particular interest is the design of buildings that are recognisably contemporary at the same time as being recognisably a part of the tradition of building in the local area, together with the use of traditional and modern materials and building techniques, and the relationship between historic and contemporary buildings..
